We believe pursuing sustainability and innovation in our core business and business practices are the keys to advancing sustainable development in the industry, cutting carbon emissions in accordance with the Paris Agreement, and to raising up the well-being and vitality of the communities we serve.

DEFINING SUSTAINABLE INFRASTRUCTURE

Lane’s business activities are at the heart of the solutions to the most difficult challenges facing the country today; including issues like aging infrastructure, urbanization, poverty and inequity, natural resource scarcity, environmental degradation, and climate change.

Lane is at the forefront of the industry in investing in innovation and advancing sustainable infrastructure to safeguard social, environmental, and economic resilience as a result of our infrastructure projects.

SUSTAINABILITY STRATEGY

Sustainability is central to the Lane business model and our ability to execute long-term responsible growth. Lane’s sustainability strategy advances the progress of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by leveraging two pillars; our core business focusing on more sustainable works; and our business practices integrating sustainability into our daily operations. In 2021, 100% of Lane’s construction backlog consisted of projects that contribute to the achievement of 9 of the 17 SDGs.

Our core business model aims to address global challenges and increase the capacity to construct sustainable infrastructure projects here in the U.S that enhance climate resiliency, social equity, and sustainable development in the communities we serve. Through our business model, we contribute to the advancement of Clean Water and Sanitation (Goal 6), Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (Goal 9), and Sustainable Cities and Communities (Goal 11).

By acting responsibly and integrating enhanced ethical, social, and environmental policies and practices into our business operations, we can advance Good Health and Well-Being (Goal 3), Gender Equality (Goal 5), Decent Work and Economic Growth (Goal 8), Reduced Inequalities (Goal 10), Responsible Consumption and Production (Goal 12), and Climate Action (Goal 13).

Lane is committed to contributing to the goals of our parent company. The Webuild Group goals for building a sustainable future are stated in the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Plan:

The ESG Plan identifies targets to drive progress in the areas of sustainability considered most critical to our stakeholders. The Plan establishes greenhouse gas emission reduction targets with the aim of accelerating the climate transition toward net zero emissions. The Plan also establishes targets for health and safety, skill development, diversity and inclusion, innovation, and digitalization.

Lane’s ESG data is aggregated into the Webuild Group’s Non-Financial Statement (Formerly known as the Sustainability Report) which discloses performance on material ESG topics.

SUSTAINABLE / GREEN CERTIFICATIONS

Lane employs onsite professionals with technical and experiential knowledge of green rating systems and certifications related to Life Cycle Assessments, Environmental Product Declarations, and Sustainability Rating Systems like ISI’s Envision and the USGBC’s LEED program.
